BH Memories: Mary was the "Godsend" in purchasing at NTSIC when BH was getting the FOTACS project off to failure. A wonderful, helpful, and thoughtful manor in a position where I often encountered "nay-sayers." She retired from NTSIC in 1986 regretfully, moving with husband Vann to their long-time vacation cottage-home near Reedville VA in the Northern Neck (my home area). Her daughter Donna was then working with us in building 31 at Cheltenham. Mary and Van were friends to CeCe and Travis Williamson and some years ago had introduced them to the Northern Neck and they also retired to their cottage-home property near Mary and Vann.
I visited with Mary and Vann for lunch each fall for several years when on my week long fishing-camping trips to Buzzard's Point Marina less than a mile as the crow flies from their place. Then the brother, from Northern end of the Neck who his boat there, got into a spat with his brother (now a doctor in Washington state) and our fishing trips stopped in 2002. I called Mary in Nov 2003 and found she was then 78; had a knee replacement back in June' Donna had back surgery that August; otherwise she and Vann were doing well.
Then June 16 2005 hear from Donna that Mary had been in an auto accident on 13th (e-mails and progress) and Donna told me that Vann had passed in February from "…minor laparoscopic (surgery, and basically, the surgeon screwed up, nicked an artery, and he bled out…"
